Democratic congressional challenger Jack Jackson Jr. is getting some high-profile help in his effort to defeat business-backed rural Arizona Congressman Rick Renzi next year.
Jackson will benefit from upcoming fundraisers in Washington D.C. featuring Sen. Joseph Lieberman, D-Conn., and U.S. Reps. Barney Frank, D-Mass.; Hilda Solis, and Tammy Baldwin, D-Wisc. Jackson, a former state legislator who was the first openly gay Native American elected to public office in the U.S., faces an uphill challenge against Renzi who is seeking his third term next year.
