Nearly 500,000 votes cast in outzonetv.com's 1st Annual Sexiest Gay 2007 poll NEW YORK – Kevin Van Wanseele, one of the founders of NorthEast Two-Spirit Society and a member of the Kumeyaay Nation, was voted Sexiest Gay of the year in OUTzoneTV.com's first ever Sexiest Gay 2007 poll, while Nate Berkus, best known as Oprah's in-house decorator, won the title of Sexiest Celebrity while Jake Gyllenhaal won the title of Sexiest Gay-Friendly Celebrity. Bravo's OUTzoneTV.com, the first-ever broadband channel specifically targeted to the gay and lesbian online community, conducted the poll on its site from December 8 – 28. Nearly 500,000 votes were cast in the poll, and voting was based on a 1-5 scale, 5 being the sexiest. In the Sexiest Gay of the Year category, Kevin from New York won the title. The nominees in this category were culled from "OUTzone's Gay of the Day." In Kevin's description explaining why he should be "Gay of the Day," Kevin wrote, "I'm the only Native American, Two-Spirit, Chelsea-Boy, Bravo-lover you're ever gonna get." While, Berkus bested other sexy gay celebrities, including Lance Bass, Portia de Rossi, Pedro Almodovar and John Cameron Mitchell, with a 4.2 ranking. "How I Met Your Mother" star Neil Patrick Harris, Ellen DeGeneres and Reichen Lehmkuhl tied for second place, all garnering a 3.9. Gyllenhaal, who held onto his early lead, scored a 4.5 in the Sexiest Gay-Friendly category, beating out other strong contenders including Hugh Jackman, Brangelina, Julian McMahon and Justin Timberlake.
